AWS Release Notes - Our Spring '22 Major Release is Here!

10.1.1.137 - Week of May 9, 2022

Something new this way comes.

Check it out!

We upgraded the Data module for you

With this release, we added a number of new features to the Data module.

To save you an additional step, you can now import data at the same time as creating a new table. Choose which columns from the data set that you'd like to use to create your new table all in one experience. To learn more about importing data into a new table, read: Importing data into a new table.

Add calculated and lookup columns to your tables

With this release, you can now add calculated and lookup columns to your tables in the Data module.

A calculated column is a column type that performs a calculation based on other columns in the table. For more information about adding a calculated column to your table, read: Adding a calculated column to your table.

A lookup column uses conditions to extract data from a source table to add to the target table containing the lookup column. For more information about adding a lookup column to your table, read: Adding a lookup column to your table.

Introducing our new data connectors

We've added even more options for you to add new data to a table. You can now import data through:

View even more of your table data from the landing page

With this release, we've added the option to switch between a simple table view and an advanced table view in the Data module.

To view more details about your tables from the Data module landing page, turn on the Enable extended view toggle. The extended view shows these additional columns:

  • Effective dated

  • Modified by

  • Modification type

  • Rows changed

  • Import time

  • Used by

Workflows drag and drop interface

We’ve made it easier to reorder folders in Workflows. Just click and drag your folder to relocate it. Drag and hover over a parent folder to nest within it. To un-nest a folder, click and drag it to the left. When you are moving folders, they will collapse automatically. If you drag your folder outside of the menu and drop, it will return to its original place in the list.

For ease and accessibility, this feature also works with keystrokes. Click or tab into the Folders sidebar to start navigating with arrows. Press up and down keys to toggle between folders, enter/return to expand and collapse. Click space to start dragging a folder, space again to drop it.

Manage your personal preferences with notification settings in workflows

In this release, admins and payees can better manage their personal preferences by configuring inquiry submission notifications. By enabling or disabling each toggle button, you can set the emails that you want or don't want to receive when actions are taken within an inquiry. This helps to better manage your involvement in the lifecycle of an inquiry.

We made stylistic updates to the Reports module

You now have the option to enable a compact view of your tables. The blank space is reduced so you can see more data at one time.

For tables, you have the option to customize rows to have alternating colors. This gives you the flexibility to select specific colors for fonts and rows.

Under the style tab, you can choose to hide or display headers. For longer header text, you can now wrap the text in the column.

Table cell borders, rows, and columns can now be customized. You can style the thickness and color of the table borders and select an orientation.

Schedule your component calculations

From the Scheduler module, you now have the ability to schedule the calculations in an individual component to avoid having to run a full model calculation.

Process Lists are better than ever

From the Audit Log, you can now view changes made to process lists, such as:

  • Creating a new process list, task, or subtask

  • Deleting a process list, task, or subtask

  • Editing a process list, task, or subtask

With this release, you can now add links to the Data module, other process lists, and the Manage files page to a process list.

Table history updates

Want to see how individual records have changed over time, and what records have been deleted or overwritten by an import? Check out the improved history viewer from table editing options in both the Composer and Data modules. Sort and filter records like you would with any other table in ICM, which goes to the very beginning of the table’s history.

We've made data stores even better

With this release, you can now use a table with a calculated or lookup column as a data source when creating a new data store.

More options for a Symon data import

With this release, we've added the option to use a file as a data source for a Symon import. This feature allows for greater flexibility when importing data into Varicent ICM. Follow the links to read more about importing data from Symon from the Composer module and the Data module.

Excel Add-In support for effective dated tables

Varicent Excel Add-In now supports effective dated tables. To maintain the integrity of imported data with effective dates, each row with effective dates is locked. Only the effective end date can be edited. You can add data to effective dated tables in Excel by creating new rows at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

Forms module effective dated table support

You can now create forms with fields for effective dating from within Varicent ICM Forms module, and users submit forms with effective dated information.

Auto-Generate Form IDs

ICM form administrators have a powerful new form design tool: auto-generated key values! These fields are hidden from users, automatically generating entries when forms are submitted to the server. Apply this feature to increase your forms’ ease of use and reduce user error. Automate the population of any numeric field.

Form validation formulas

The forms modules has levelled up with the new validation formula functionality! Control the data that form users can submit in aggregate, such as the acceptable sum, count, or average of form fields/columns. Apply operators and functions to your form fields to ensure the integrity of data that form users submit.

It's even better now...

We took the time to revamp some of the things you already love.

Enhanced reports landing page in Presenter Adaptive

In this release, we're excited to showcase a sleek look for the Presenter Adaptive reports landing page. You can now see thumbnail previews of all your reports to help quickly identify each one. You can also mark specific reports as a favorite by clicking on the star icon. Under the starred column, you can easily go back to reports that you use most often.

Improved simple gauge chart for reports

You can now simultaneously display and easily compare an actual value and percentage to a target with more customization options for simple gauge charts. You can choose to display the gauge axis as a full circle and show the title under your chosen values.

Admin settings pages

The scrolling function and layout of our model settings pages has been fine-tuned, making it easier for you to review records and work with your model settings. We've added feature descriptions, iconography, and adjusted dividers and spacing between menu options. Open your model settings to enjoy the new look and feel!

Admin log updates

We’ve upgraded our log pages to give administrators a more comprehensive and readable list of their model activities. Look for new filtering and pagination options, as well as a new ID column in your model’s logs of import errors, export errors, scheduler errors, calculation run tasks and uses of external tools. Each log entry features a new actions menu and enhanced details pages which let you copy summaries at the click of a button.

New and improved data importing from Composer

With this release, the data importing experience in the Composer module now matches the new and improved look of the Data module.

Additionally, you can now access all of the available data connectors from the Composer module. Check out how to import data into the Composer module from the different connectors: Importing data from the Composer module.

Get more from Import Logs

With this release, we've added a column in the Import Log for the import name to help you more easily search for and filter through your imports.

We have also added new filter options so that you can search and filter by each column separately.

Performance page improvements

The Performance page for ICM calculation engine has new infographics, along with color-coded tags for different calculation types, expanded filtering options, and a new button for exporting performance data. You can export calculation batch overview data directly to SalesForce or download reports in Microsoft Excel, PDF, or text file format. You can also download computation charts in .CSV format.

Audit overview and details

The Audit overview page in model settings has been revamped with the additions of an audit ID column, more filtering options, a brand new audit details subpage, and a button to copy summary information. We’ve implemented module tags, coding the 30 available tags with 12 distinct colors.

Check out the new subpage for complete records of computations and data changes that take place in your model.

Things have changed a bit.

URL Changes for Salesforce

There's an update to the salesforce API integration URL. Previously the url contained API.Partner_Server_URL_100, this has been deprecated and users need to change the API param number so it reads: API.Partner_Server_URL_540. For detailed instructions on how to perform this change, please see the following KB article.

.Net Framework support

As of April 26, 2022 .Net Framework 4.6.1 is no longer supported, On-Prem customers should update their .Net Framework to version 4.8.

Checkboxes are updated to switches for reports

In Presenter Adaptive, we've replaced checkboxes to switches to help you easily enable or disable features.
