Wildcard Search in Varicent Sales Performance Management (SPM)

Users can use the wildcard search within terms in order to resolve investigative issues faster.

Searching with wildcard characters

You can use question mark (?) and asterisk (*) characters to perform a wildcard search.

? (question mark) finds any single character. For example, searching for sm?th finds "smith" and "smyth".

* (asterisk) finds any number of characters. For example, searching for *east finds "northeast" and "southeast".

~ (tilde) followed by ? or * searches for the question mark or asterisk instead of using those characters as wildcard inputs. For example, searching for payee~* finds "payee*". Use a tilde if you have question marks or asterisks in your data.

Wildcard support

You can use wildcard search in these places:

  • Text search fields (for example, searching on the home page)

  • Data source searches (for example, in Calculation wizards)

  • Tables and filters (for example, applying filters to the Audit Log or managing payee groups)
