Varicent Sales Performance Management Documentation

Behavior changes and quality-of-life improvements

You now have more control over localization of default or system names. When editing a calculation, you'll see a localization icon beside some names. Turning off localization on those columns prevents errors related to migrations where a metric in a calculation shares a name with a a system table. For more details about this, read: Turning off localization for a calculation.

We added a way to get direct links to documents in Payee Web. By going to the Message Center and then the Documents tab, you can right click on any document name and click Copy link address to get a link to that document. You can then share this link with web users, as long as they have the appropriate permissions.

There is a new type of task in Scheduler that combines the Calculate and Lock tasks. Previously, when scheduling or manually running Calculation and Lock tasks, if web users submitted data changes between the calculation and the lock, the lock would fail. This combined task type prevents data submission from interrupting the process.

We've introduced a way to change how publications and external tool tasks in Scheduler run. You can now have these tasks run as non-global actions. This behavior mirrors how these tasks ran in Version 9 of Varicent SPM. Please contact Support if you want to change this setting. If you do decide to change this setting, be aware that making these tasks non-global can cause them to fail if another type of global action is running.

We've added more clarity to the Scenarios module regarding scenarios not running on Premium Performance Offering (PPO) models. If you attempt to run a scenario on a PPO model, you'll now get an error message preventing it from running rather than just having the scenario fail.
